US targets Chinese hardwood plywood with steep preliminary duties starting this March

The U.S. Department of Commerce has imposed a preliminary antidumping duty of 187.27% on hardwood and decorative plywood from China, tightening pressure on a trade flow that has already dwindled to a fraction of its former size. In a notice signed on February 24 and published March 2 in the Federal Register, Commerce said it found that Chinese hardwood plywood was sold in the United States at less than fair value during the period October 1, 2024 through March 31, 2025.
