US softwood lumber imports fell again in 2025, dropping to levels not seen in roughly two decades as higher trade costs and weaker construction demand continued to weigh on volumes. According to US Customs data, total softwood imports reached 30.03 million cubic metres in 2025, down 9% year-on-year and marking the fourth consecutive annual decline.
