UPM introduces spruce-based LNG plywood as demand rises

UPM has launched a spruce-based plywood grade for use in the insulation systems of liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo tanks, adding supply capacity at a time when global LNG carrier orders remain elevated. The new product, WISA-LNG Spruce, has been developed and tested together with Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), whose membrane technologies are standard in LNG vessel construction.
