Strong demand from UK and USA drives Latvia’s softwood lumber exports

Latvia’s softwood lumber exports continued to expand in the first nine months of 2025, showing strong growth in both volume and value compared with the same period in 2024. Total exports reached 2.42 million cubic meters, up 26% from 1.93 million cubic meters a year earlier. Rising average prices across many markets contributed to overall growth, while demand patterns highlight both traditional and emerging export destinations. The United Kingdom remained Latvia’s largest single market, receiving 940,175 cubic meters, up 49% from January–September 2024 and representing 38.8% of total exports.
