Ponsse begins change negotiations regarding layoffs

Forestry machinery company Ponsse is planning layoffs at its Vieremän production facility next year. The company has invited all of its Finnish personnel to change negotiations in accordance with the Cooperatives Act. Ponsse's subsidiary Epec Oy is not included in the negotiations. "Weakening demand from the forest industry and reduced timber harvesting volumes had a negative impact on demand for forest machinery, which was particularly visible in the Finnish market," CEO Juho Nummela explains in the release. According to Ponsse's assessment, if implemented, the plans could lead to the full or partial layoff of the ...
