On 20 November, leading organisations representing Poland’s wood-processing sector sent a joint letter to Prime Minister Donald Tusk. The Coalition for Polish Wood (KNRPD) expressed serious concern and opposition to the new public procedure for identifying “old-growth forests”, recently introduced by the Ministry of Climate and Environment (MKiŚ). The letter was signed by leaders of major industry associations: the Polish Association of Wood-Based Panel Producers, the Association of Polish Papermakers, and the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Furniture Manufacturers.
