Russia's government is considering a package of support measures for the forestry sector after a sharp deterioration in profitability left nearly half of the country's logging and wood-processing companies operating at a loss in 2025. According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade cited by Arkhangelsk regional lawmaker Alexander Dyatlov, around 45% of logging companies and 48% of wood-processing businesses were unprofitable last year.
