Lumber futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange point to a gradually strengthening market outlook through 2027, with forward contracts trading at progressively higher levels compared with near-term prices. The May 2026 lumber contract was quoted around $598 per thousand board feet, while prices for later delivery months moved higher along the forward curve. Contracts for July 2026 traded near $617.50, September 2026 around $638, and November 2026 close to $646. The upward slope continues into 2027.
