HS Timber Group’s acquisition of Latvian Kurekss gets green

The Latvian Competition Council (KP) has approved Nextwood One, part of the Austrian HS Timber Group, to acquire sole decisive influence over the Latvian sawn timber producer SIA Kurekss. The approval follows an initial announcement of the planned acquisition in January 2025. Nextwood Two GmbH, a holding company registered in Austria and indirectly owned by HS Timber Group GmbH, is part of the Evergreen Privatstiftung investment fund. HS Timber operates production facilities in Austria, Germany, Romania, Finland, and Argentina, employing more than 2,700 people and serving clients in 80 countries.
