High timber prices and weak sawn timber markets push Södra into loss

Södra reported a loss for 2025 as weaker pulp and sawn timber markets coincided with historically high wood raw material prices. Operating profit fell to –SEK 1,290 million (€122 million), compared with SEK 2,630 million (€249 million) in 2024. Net sales declined 4% to SEK 28,302 million (€2.68 billion) and the operating margin dropped to –5%. The decisive factor was the widening gap between raw material costs and finished product prices.
