Griggs Timber Company, a long-established timber merchant based in Gloucester, has closed its doors after more than a century in operation. Founded in 1917, the business had been owned by Kellaway Building Supplies since 2013. Staff were informed in mid-November that the company was considering closure. On 17 November, management announced a month-long consultation process, including meetings with employee representatives, during which it was disclosed that the business had been making losses for the past three years.
