The construction-related sector in Germany continues to face numerous difficulties closely linked to the overall development of the construction industry and the economy. According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), real (price-adjusted) incoming orders in the main construction industry fell by 0.7% in 2024 compared to the previous year. Nominally, however, order intake increased by 1.1% to €103.5 billion. In building construction, residential construction recorded a real decline of 3.5%, while non-residential construction decreased by 5.8%.
