German construction sector orders rise 20% year-on-year in September 2025

Real order intake in the German main construction sector increased by 7.7% in September 2025 compared with August, after adjustment for calendar and seasonal effects. This brought the new orders index to its highest level since March 2022, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis). Month-on-month, order intake rose by 1.7% in building construction and 13.2% in civil engineering.
