Finland’s timber market experienced a pronounced slowdown in 2025, with trading activity falling well below the levels seen in recent years. According to wood trade statistics published by the Finnish Forest Industries Federation, timber transactions last year totalled around 30 million cubic metres, more than eight million cubic metres less than in 2024. The last time annual timber trade volumes dropped to a comparable level was in 2020.
