Finland’s timber trade splits in two as prices retreat from record highs

The year opened with strong buying interest and accelerating price momentum in Finland. By early summer, several assortments were trading at levels not seen in decades in real terms. Then the direction reversed. From July onwards, prices fell sharply, erasing much of the first-half exuberance and leaving the market subdued into year-end. On a full-year basis, average prices still edged higher compared with 2024.
