EUDR delay brings time, not clarity for timber trade

At the end of 2025, the EU decided to postpone the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) by one year following strong criticism from industry and Member States. Three months later, there are still few concrete developments. According to the German Timber Trade Federation (GD Holz), the regulation remains largely unchanged in its current form, while important implementation details are still unclear. The revised timetable foresees application from 30 December 2026 for large and medium-sized companies, with small and micro enterprises required to comply from 30 June 2027.
