China’s plywood exports rose to a record level in 2025 despite prolonged trade barriers in the United States and weakening demand across Europe, highlighting the industry’s growing resilience and market diversification. According to data from Chinese customs, China exported more than 12.99 million cubic metres of plywood last year, an increase of over 7% year on year and the highest annual volume on record, surpassing even levels seen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
