According to China Customs, from January to September 2025 China’s log imports dropped 13% to 23.96 million cubic metres, valued at US$3.753 billion, down 22% compared with the same period in 2024. Of the total, China’s softwood log imports amounted to 18.02 million cubic metres, down 8%, while hardwood log imports reached 5.94 million cubic metres, falling 25% year on year.
