Canadian manufacturers call for tariffs on rising wood product imports

There is a shift taking place in Canada’s wood products sector—less dramatic than a trade war headline, but more telling. Domestic manufacturers, facing rising import pressure and a wave of mill closures, are now calling for immediate tariffs on foreign wood products, including a sharper focus on low-cost plywood shipments from China. The federal government has already taken a first step.
