Softwood lumber production in Eastern Canada is being reduced again, with Interfor curtailing two sawmills in Ontario. The company said operations at Nairn Centre and Gogama will be indefinitely curtailed. No restart timeline was given. At Nairn, the sawmill is expected to run into early to mid-June to process existing log inventories, with the planer continuing into late June. The decision follows earlier downtime in 2025.
