Czech sawmills are increasingly turning to imports as domestic log prices climb to some of the highest levels in Central Europe, forcing processors to secure raw material outside the country. Market participants say spruce log prices in the Czech Republic have moved well above those in neighbouring Germany and Austria in recent months.
