Sweden’s forest cooperative Södra has announced a new round of price reductions for sawlogs and pulpwood, effective from 20 March, following an earlier adjustment at the beginning of February. The company said demand for sawlogs has remained weak in recent months within its operating area and is expected to stay subdued in the near term. At the same time, supply of pulpwood continues to be relatively high. Under the latest adjustment, prices for sawable assortments have been reduced by SEK 100 per cubic metre (approximately €8.7/m³).
