Canadian sawmill production of softwood and hardwood lumber fell in 2025, according to Statistics Canada data, as output and shipments both moved lower during the year. Total production reached 46.297 million cubic metres in 2025, down 5% from 2024. Shipments also declined to 46.077 million cubic metres, pointing to weaker activity across the sector.
