Pentarch and Nippon Paper form New Zealand wood chip venture to target Asia

Pentarch Forestry and Nippon Paper Resources Australia have agreed to establish a joint venture in New Zealand’s wood chip sector, marking a further step in both groups’ efforts to reposition supply chains and deepen exposure to Asian demand. Under the agreement, Pentarch has acquired a 30 per cent stake in Marusumi Whangarei Limited. Nippon Paper Resources Australia is set to acquire the remaining 70 per cent later this month.
