EUDR: What Brussels still needs to change

The European Commission is due to present a report by the end of April on how the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) affects micro and small enterprises. Although European Parliament, the Council and the Commission agreed to delay the application of the rules for large companies until 30 December 2026, micro and small operators – including forest owners – will still fall under the regulation from 30 June 2027. For Germany’s forest owners, the postponement does not resolve the core issue.
