GD Holz urges deeper revisions to EU deforestation regulation

The German Timber Trade Federation (GD Holz)  believes the latest adjustments to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) do not go far enough to ensure that the rules can be implemented in a workable and proportionate way. After months of strong criticism from businesses and political stakeholders, the regulation was postponed and partially simplified. The European Commission has also been asked to prepare further simplification proposals, although a fundamental overhaul has been excluded.
