The German e-commerce group Zalando has decided to phase out packaging materials linked to the Swedish forestry company SCA, according to a report by Dagens Nyheter. The move follows an external investigation commissioned by Zalando after allegations that packaging materials used in its logistics chain could be connected to logging in forests considered worthy of protection. “We do not purchase products directly from SCA, but after this investigation was completed, and after further internal and external dialogue, we have made the decision to phase out SCA materials in our packaging products,” Zalando told the newspaper.
