EU–India FTA concluded: what could it mean for wood product trade?

The European Union and India have concluded negotiations on a comprehensive free trade agreement, setting the stage for the gradual removal of tariffs on more than 90% of tariff lines over a five- to ten-year period. Once ratified, the agreement will govern trade between the European Union and India, which together account for close to €180 billion in annual goods and services trade. The deal is expected to significantly expand EU exports to India, particularly in machinery, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, vehicles and services, where India has agreed to its most extensive market opening to date.
