Roundwood availability dominates discussions at Forst-Holz-Dialog in Berlin

The German wood industry is facing growing market pressure from an uneven and unreliable supply of roundwood, rather than from a fundamental shortage of timber, according to discussions held this week at the Forst-Holz-Dialog in Berlin. “A reliable and regionally balanced supply of roundwood is essential for the timber industry,” said German Wood Industry Council (DHWR) President Jörn Kimmich, summarising the sector’s current position.
