Domtar announced on January 13 that it will temporarily curtail lumber production by 150 million board feet during the first quarter of 2026, citing weak demand across North America, U.S. tariffs and continued economic uncertainty. The reduction will be spread across Domtar’s lumber operations in Quebec, Ontario and the United States, the company said.
