President Donald Trump has delayed planned tariff increases on selected wood-related products entering the United States, extending existing measures for a further year. In a proclamation issued on December 31, 2025, the White House invoked Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 to postpone higher duties on upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets and vanities that were due to take effect on January 1, 2026. The current 25% tariff on certain products will now remain in place until January 1, 2027.
