UK softwood lumber imports from the EU countries rise sharply in 2025

UK imports of softwood lumber from EU member states increased strongly in the first ten months of 2025. According to Eurostat, shipments reached 7.05 million m³, up 39% from 5.06 million m³ in the same period of 2024. In value terms, imports rose by 57% to €1.91 billion, supported by firmer demand and higher average export prices. Sweden remained the UK’s largest supplier with 2.72 million m³, accounting for just under 39% of total EU shipments.
