Russia’s wood industry strengthens presence in Africa

Russian wood industry companies are expanding their presence in African markets as exports to Europe remain restricted. Segezha Group has begun exporting sawn timber to Tunisia, while Sveza Group expects a sharp increase in plywood shipments to African countries by the end of 2025. Segezha’s press service told Interfax that the company recently shipped 4,000 cubic metres of Angara pine to a Tunisian partner with long-standing ties to the Russian timber sector.  “This shipment is an important strategic step for us.
