Germany’s sawmill and wood processing industry is warning of an acute shortage of raw wood and urging forest owners to step up harvesting to secure supply through winter, DeSH President Stephan Lang said in a statement. After several years of high logging volumes caused by bark beetle infestations, timber harvesting has declined sharply in 2025.
