A group of MEPs has urged the European Commission to ensure that the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is implemented as planned on 30 December 2025, rejecting any proposal to postpone its application once again. In a letter sent on 7 October 2025 to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Executive Vice-President Teresa Ribera, and Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall, the MEPs expressed strong opposition to reopening the legislation or delaying its entry into force.
