Stora Enso to begin change negotiations at Varkaus mills, up to 23 jobs at risk

Stora Enso said it will begin change negotiations next week at its Varkaus operations in Finland, citing weak market conditions. The talks will cover the entire workforce of more than 400 employees at the integrated mill site. The company said plans include temporary layoffs of up to three months, which may also be implemented in shorter periods. In addition, restructuring measures could result in as many as 23 redundancies.
